Dolly’s Mission Statement
Through the innocent voices of animals (that would be Henry and me), we invite people to turn obstacles into opportunities and, in the process, develop an emotional vocabulary for improved health.
We have written our stories and want to encourage others to write and tell theirs. The only way you will be known is if you tell people who you are . Henry started this whole thing with his story about survival, courage, perseverance, and triumph over barriers and bias. Henry calls each person to be the hero in his or her own life and to be true to who we are every single day.
My mission is to help humans use an emotional vocabulary so they can learn to express their feelings in ways that don't harm themselves or others. I try to demonstrate that you can look perfect on the outside and still be aching or be insecure on the inside. I know that holding in feelings makes one sick and very unhappy. My task is to teach humans to give a voice to their emotions so that they can choose their responses.
Henry and I both believe that just because you can't do everything doesn't give you permission to do nothing. The profits from our books and materials go to animals in need and to children of our military who have a wounded family member. We encourage you to shop at our store so we can donate the profits to those in need.
Maybe you would like to buy some books at cost and donate them to some animal agency so that they can sell them at retail and keep all the money. All you have to do is write to Henry or me (Dolly) and we can make a special gift like that happen.
We each have three resources: time, money, and energy. Make sure you give some of each of those resources to a human or animal that needs that brightness and help.
